I’ve been busy creating behind the scenes here, and today I get to share with you my fall mantel from last year and from this year for two ideas with pretty drastic feels.
Coastal Fall Mantel
The first is my Coastal Fall Mantel from last year. We were living in California, and I wanted a fall feeling that was different than I’d ever had before. My walls were painted this amazing aqua (Watery from Sherwin-Williams) and I wanted to keep everything fresh.
I started with a reclaimed window and added a family photo taken during the fall. I also added a few quick watercolors, a pumpkin lantern, and some floral elements for a look that I think keeps it bright and open. I was so in love with this mantel, and will be sharing more details soon.
Rustic Fall Mantel
Fast forward to this year, and we’re in Idaho. Our house here has a totally different feel and while some of the elements from last year are the same, I’ve added new projects that more closely align with the rustic feel around here.
My Rustic Fall Mantel reuses the books, leaf watercolor, window, and flowers, but the feel is so much different. Bringing in the oak leaf candle holder, the wreath, and the tea cup make it feel more warm and cozy. And that cute little Felt Pumpkin Garland? It’s a guest post over at Create. Craft. Love. so head on over to see a full tutorial on how to create it.
There’s just one problem…I made a second garland and now I can’t decide which one I like best. Here’s the second one.
This one is over at the Core’Dinations Blog today (I’m on their Core Team, which I’m so excited about) with a full tutorial. I told you I’d been busy!
There are things I like about each garland, but I haven’t decided which one will stay up–or should I combine them? So many options!
Which mantel (Coastal or Rustic) do you like better? And which of the garlands do you like better?
I'd love to hear your thoughts–leave me a comment!
