I don’t know about you, but lately I’m loving all things wood. Whether it’s decorating a new room, sewing up a new sweater, or creating a craft, I crave the warmth and homey feel of wood and love how the addition of a wooden sign, button, or accent makes it feel complete. Enter the beautifully crafted JORD wood watch and now my wardrobe feels complete too.
I got to partner with JORD (pronounced yode) and choose a watch from their selection of gorgeous wood watches and immediately went for the Cassia series–I love how the simple, elegant face combined with a slender wood and metal band to create an effortless accessory that I can see styled so many ways. The only problem was which color way to choose–I ended up getting the Olive & Agean Blue wood watch and it’s simply beautiful. The blue is so deep and perfectly complements a wide range of shades and tones.
Sometimes the true test of beauty and sophistication is if something can stand alone, and the Cassia wood watch definitely can. Put it on with a statement blouse with dramatic shorter sleeves so the eye is already drawn to your arms, then let the warmth of the wood draw your eye further down to your wrist.
One of my favorite things to wear in the winter is LOOONG long-sleeved sweaters and sweatshirts–especially when they have a thumbhole cuff like this Lane raglan made from a soft french terry. But if you have on a thumb-hole cuff you’re probably not going to be able to see your watch without a bit of effort. Unless you wear it on top of your cuff.
Treat your wood watch like a bracelet and layer it with a few carefully chosen pieces. Here I stacked my Cassia wood watch with a solid metal cuff and a looser piece that combines wood and metal to tie the two together. I love that they all work together but each piece adds rather than detracting from each other.
