When I was trying to figure out how I wanted to decorate our master bedroom, I started by finding a color scheme that was good for my husband. Since it’s his room too, I wanted something he was comfortable with too.
I started thinking about a few things that would be meaningful and unique to us. Last year, we moved four times with Chad’s job. It was a crazy year to say the least. But what we gained from that experience was a strength and a commitment to lean on each other. I’d go with him anywhere because he’s my best friend, my love, and my rock. We can do anything together. When I feel like I’m drowning in the sea of life, he is my life preserver.
One of the places we lived was California, and there were things about it that I really loved. I loved the expanse of the ocean. I loved the pounding of the waves, the smell of the ocean, and things that washed up on the shore. And while we now live far from the ocean, there’s something about it that I don’t want to forget. So our room has a nautical influence, but not just because I collected seashells and driftwood. I love the thought that my husband and I can be there for one another.
So I started with a custom circle frame from Cut It Out and turned it into a life preserver.
Then I paired the life preserver with a wedding photo and a piece of driftwood and a few other things for a grouping that really has meaning for us.
