13 Jaw-Dropping Map and Globe Projects

I’ve noticed lots of beautiful things made from maps and globes lately, and I wanted to round up some of my absolute favorites. These gorgeous map and globe projects made decorating meaningful and beautiful at the same time, and I’m all about decor that fulfills both of those functions.

Personalized Map Chairs from Pillar Box Blue. I love this idea and I may be extra fond of it because she used The Tube map. I just want to know where she found one that big.

Globe Bowl from Better Homes and Gardens. This bowl is beautiful in its simplicity and ability to elevate a space. And this globe project yields two from the same globe!

Free Printable Earth Watercolor from Mabey She Made It. This watercolor is so beautiful printed out. I still love to stop and look at it even though I see it all the time. And best of all, you can download it free!

DIY Wooden World from The Happier Homemaker. This is so simple and beautiful. I love the use of stain to create the land.

White World Map from Dot & Bo. This one is available to buy, and man is it beautiful. I love the three panels, and it wouldn’t be hard to recreate this with foam board.

Map Artwork from Martha Stewart. Track your journey with a little embroidery floss and the map from your latest trip then frame it for an eye-catching souvenir.

Travel Fund Globe by Rad Megan. This is such a clever idea, and a great way to build up your travel fund. Your globe stays usable in its traditional role and doubles as a piggy bank.

DIY Globe Accessory from IKEA bowls by Kristi Murphy. This makes me want to head to IKEA right now. The white vinyl on these wooden bowls is the perfect contrast and this globe projects is something I’d love in my home.

Les Robes Géographiques by Elisabeth LeCourt. You all know my love of dresses, so when I saw this beautiful map dress (and she has many others–you have to go check them out) I was in LOVE. That vintage map is beautiful, and it creates a gorgeous folded image too.

The Places You’ve Lived Map Decor by Mabey She Made It. It’s not hard to understand why I love this one–it’s got all the places I call home on it! But I guess it’s time to add another circle for our newest location.

Map and Swallows Shadow Box from Whistle & Ivy. These swallows make a unique addition to the map that catches your attention. It’s playful but chic at the same time.

DIY Quote Globe at Wayfair. Everything from the font to the quote makes me happy about this globe project. It’s an easy way to make your own statement.

Memories Map Bracelet from Peanut & Olive. This would be another wonderful way to keep all the places you love close. I love the simplicity and charm of this bracelet.

  • Hi love the map projects. Thanks for featuring my tube map chair. The map I used was actually some wrapping paper by Cavallini, they do loads of great map wrapping paper which is great for projects.

  • I love this! I think maps are so beautiful. We used them as a motif in our wedding and now have them all over our home. I can't wit to steal some of these ideas! Thanks for sharing!

    • Aww, a map wedding sounds lovely! And what a great way to continue that theme into your home.
