It’s finally summer weather here in Idaho, and I’m definitely celebrating. It’s time for outdoor picnics, Italian ices, and slowing down. It’s also time for sundresses! Later this week I get to be part of Melissa’s (30) Days of Sundresses series, which got me thinking about the perfect sundress. And while my turn isn’t until Saturday, I still wanted to delve into what makes a great sundress.
A week or so ago, I asked on my Facebook page for some things my readers looked for in a sundress. I got a great variety of answers, and I loved that even though there were a lot of differences in specifics, there were several trends I noticed. So today I’m combining my preferences and those of my readers to bring you several ingredients for the perfect sundress.
Dress pattern: Simplicity 2702
Fabric: Fabric.com (sold out, but this fabric would be amazing with this pattern)
Shoes: Target a few years ago

Nailed it. I love the 30 days of sundresses, but most of them I can't wear because like you I need some sort of sleeve and it has to be knee length. And putting an undershirt under a sundress defeats the purpose to me. :) Thanks for sharing this list.
Thank y ou Kristie! I have a hard time finding sundresses with sleeves as well, so I'm getting better at finding ways to add them. And you're dead on about the shirt under the dress!
These are great requirements. I might like mine a little more fitted in the bodice, and then, like you said, flowy for movement!! jodie

Thank you Jodie! I usually like more fitted through the bodice as well, but this one was calling my name. :)
WOW !! very impressive (love the matching shoes too !). I too like a flowy top.
Aww, thank you! I have a love of colored shoes, and these get worn ALL the time.

Thanks! Did I you see this one at church before you moved? I can't remember.
