USA Fourth of July Decor + 109 Other Red, White, and Blue Projects

It’s time to celebrate the our independence with some Fourth of July decor! I’ve joined over 100 other bloggers to share the ultimate roundup of Fourth of July projects just in time for you to make some amazing things to celebrate Independence Day!

I’ve had my eye on some paper medallions lately, and I thought this would be a fun way to try it out. However, I couldn’t decide what I wanted my banner to say. I played with several ideas until “USA est. 1776″ popped into my head. I can’t remember seeing any other Fourth of July decor with this on it (although I could be wrong). So here is my take on the project:

The white frame is actually a repurposed cabinet door from when we redid our kitchen. I snatched up this one and three others to use around the house, and I love them. However, I don’t want to be committed to red, so covered the inset in card stock so that I can change it out.

I went with red, white, and aqua dotted paper for my Fourth of July decor mostly because my living room walls are aqua, and I like the twist on tradition. I didn’t mean to pick all dots since I was pulling papers based on color, but I ended up liking that they were all dots, but they were all different at the same time.

I chose not to do a second layer because I already had this red background and white frame going. Instead, I chose some chipboard stars and letters. I left the stars naked and inked and glittered the letters so they would stand out.

The white letters at the bottom of the door are chipboard stickers, and came already glittered. It was nice to be able to just stick them on.

To finish it off, I strung the cute little medallions on baker’s twine by punching small holes through two of the pleats on the back the threading the twine through. Tie bows at the ends of the string, and hot glue it to the background!

Are you ready for LOTS of other projects? Check them out!
