The Photo That Changed My Life

It was an ordinary thing, really. I was putting on a dressĀ I had made to take a few quick photos. I’ve done it a hundred times. I pulled back my hair, put on a quick coat of mascara and some lip gloss, and got the camera ready.

After taking the photos, I came back to the computer to do some editing and that’s when it hit me.

My skin looked good. It looked healthy and fresh. I kept staring at the photos, not really believing that that was my skin and that I didn’t have any makeup on it.

I’ve struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember. Acne, dullness, dryness, and of course the bags under my eyes that are always there. In short, I always have to edit my face in photos so I’m not embarrassed. But not this time.

And while the dress isĀ cute, its not the star of the photo to me. (Its a Mouse House Creations Ladie’s Janie, by the way.)

So why am I sharing this? Because I always thought I had to deal with my skin’s issues–that they were just what they were. But I was wrong. You don’t have to simply put up with skin concerns and now that I know that, I am sad I wasted so much time being embarrassed by my skin.

I don’t want that for you. So that’s why you’re going to see some Ā Rodan + Fields posts and information here at Mabey She Made It. That’s why I’ll share some of the products that have changed how I feel about myself and my skin.Ā I want better for you, and these are the products that can change your life too.

I would love to help you find the right solution for your skin concerns. I’d love to see your confidence grow as you feel more comfortable in your own skin.

Thank you for sharing and also helping me improve my sewing. I am ready to make clothes to sell and of course, they need to look as good as I can possibly make them. So Boom! I found your lessons. Are you going to write a book someday? You should. You explain stuff so well.I started a cookbook and that was the hardest part for me. I gave up. Now I sew and love every minute of it. Sincerely, Gayle

Lisa, the dress looks super good on you. I like the fabric and the print a lot, i was wondering if i can get the same print from moodfabrics or fabricland? I tried but could not find the same on these stores. Can you please tell me from where i can get the fabric. I would also like to know more about the products for the skin care. I am in mid 40’s and my skin is very dull. May be you can help me choose the best product.

I'd love to hear your thoughts–leave me a comment!

Welcome to Mabey She Made It, my cozy corner dedicated to all things homemade and delightful. One of the greatest things I learned while growing up was to know what ā€œhomeā€ felt like.
