Pippa Peplum Top

Have you seen the new Pippa Peplum pattern by See Kate Sew? It’s so cute! It might look a little familiar as I recently tested a women’s version of the same pattern (the Penelope Peplum) here. I love it when there are big and little patterns for the same style. Not that I dress the same as my girls…but you get the idea.

I had the chance to test the Pippa Peplum as well, and I love how cute it is on. The top portion fits well and the peplum isn’t too full so it’s girly without being over the top. I made up the size 5 for Miss Saige since she’s growing like a weed. And it fits her really cute. I also added the little optional bow, and I love how much it adds to the top.

The pattern is easy to follow and pretty quick to make up. One word of warning though, if you make it at 10:00 PM on the night before you move, you might get a little stressed. But it’s not the pattern. He he.

I used a fun coral chevron print from Girl Charlee (affiliate link) and I love how much fun the print is with the peplum.

The only change I made was to add length to the skirt portion so she wouldn’t grow out of it quite so quickly. Seriously, she’s getting so tall it’s not funny. Even she is shocked at how fast she’s growing. (But really, this is one of her classic silly looks–I kinda like it!)

i love the pippa top you made … the chevrons are perfect … i have a question: what did you do to bring the neck up higher? use clear elastic? raise the pattern pieces, if so, how much … i love this look … does it have back buttons; i can’t get a clear pic from any of the sites i found ….

    thanks so much …. darlene

Thank you, Darlene. I sewed this up according to the pattern at the time–I was testing, and I haven’t sewn up another one yet so I don’t have a good comparison between the test and final patterns. I didn’t use any clear elastic or alter the pieces. It doesn’t have any buttons on the back, it just slips on like a t-shirt. I hope that helps!

I'd love to hear your thoughts–leave me a comment!
