Ravenna Remix: Remix the Stitch Tour

Ravenna Top for Remix the Stitch

I am so excited to share the Ravenna Top pattern from Straight Stitch Designs today. I gave you a little sneak peek last week on Instagram (I’m @mabeyshemadeit–come follow me!) and I could hardly wait until today. This is my new favorite shirt–I’m dubbing it my date night top because I love that I can dress it up or down, that its easy to wear, and that I feel like a million bucks in it.

I love that this top has a simple front, and then you turn around to a back that’s full of design elements like an exposed zipper, double row of ruffles, and a high-low hemline.

I made the Ravenna in a Joel Dewberry rayon challis that has wonderful drape and a bold pattern. It adds interest to the front and shows off the double ruffle in the back. I only remixed a little because I love this top so much already.

Here are the changes I made to mix it up a little:

  • Shorten the sleeves by a couple of inches and decrease the sleeve band by half.
  • Raise the scoop back a couple of inches for a less dramatic effectRavenna Top for Remix the Stitch
  • Put the zipper on the inside instead of an exposed zipper (which I don’t even use and you could easily omit)

And I love that the simple scoop neckline in front gives you the opportunity to dress it up with statement jewelry. (I got both the necklace and earrings in my Rocksbox subscription box (use code mabeyshemadeitxoxo for a free month–so much fun.)

I can’t wait to make another Ravenna top–it certainly won’t be long until I do!

Beautiful fabric, it really suits you. I love the length of the pattern, especially as I am long in the body!

Aww, thank you Vicky. It’s a great length–no worries when you bend over to pick up something which is always a win. 🙂

Fantastic remix! I love the way you raised the scoop back up a bit and I love the hemline. Joel Dewberry has the loveliest rayon too. Well done!

Thanks Jennifer! The higher scoop makes it feel a little more mom friendly to me.

Gorgeous! I can’t wait to make a woven version next 😉

Thanks, Heidi! I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do, which is amazing because I loved the pattern already!

The fabric you used is beautiful. I’m glad to hear the the zipper can be easily omitted. I’d been hesitating on buying the pattern because zippers and I do not mix all that well.

I'd love to hear your thoughts–leave me a comment!
